Help on Select

The selection table contains 1225 color mixtures, based on a thick dry film on a white sheet of paper. The colors are sorted by their HLC (Hue, Luminance and Chroma) values. Just select any mixture by clicking on the colored field, and you will be led to the "Mix" page. It will take over the selected color and allows to further manipulate and analyze the color mixture.

You may sort any column by clicking on the small triangles on the header. Also it is possible to narrow the selection by writing a certain number in the text fields, e.g. "160" into the "H" field. Another possibility is to write ">20" to delete all column values below 20.

The indication "(Dev.)" means that the desired color cannot be mixed perfectly from the basic colors. In any case, a small color deviation will remain. Since not all printable HLC values can be displayed on a computer screen, a few colors also have the remark "No RGB". The displayed color is as accurate as possible, but it is advisable to use a printed HLC table as reference.

Help on Mix

On top of the page the color of a thick mixture layer is displayed. The text fields below show the number of color drops needed to generate this mixture. Clicking on any of the up or down arrows, or writing in the text fields will change the number of drops and update the mixed color.

Clicking on any of the buttons named 0.01mm, 0.05mm and 0.2mm displays the thin layer appearance of the actual mixture. Starting from zero layer thickness at the left side, the thickness is continously increased until reaching the selected maximum value at the right side. The "thick" button resets the layer to thick layer appearance again.

One row below, the "white back", "black back" or "color black" buttons determine the background color for the thin layer above. Clicking on any of the buttons selects the background.

The button "set background" will select the actual mixture as color background as described above.

To add the mixture to your palette, just click on the "add to palette" button.
